Making: Of Art and Science
There are many ways to skin a cat. I thrive myself on having a keen eye for detail(s). It is where all the forces come together to celebrate our architecture. However, I cannot achieve this notion myself. I have to rely on others to make it happen. My skill is being able to get the best out of the artisans (skilled or semi-skilled) that makes the difference. It is a collaborative effort that over the years has taken passion, effort and patience. Investing in basic tools and machines to harness the quality is key to our scale of operation. Sometimes the imperfections end up becoming the artistic licence required to find new meaning in the end product. Repurposing local materials is part of the design Renaissance we seek. We have used old frying pans for lamp shades and concrete to make light fitting stands. Our journey continues unabated and we delight at achieving the seemingly impossible.
